Verizon's Samsung Galaxy S4 Pre-Orders Open Tomorrow

Soon after both Sprint and T-Mobile announced their Galaxy S4 launches would be delayed, Verizon took to Twitter to announce they would be opening pre-orders for the new Samsung handset tomorrow. Verizon did not give any estimated shipping date, but the carrier did previously mention the GS4 would be available "sometime in May".

Pre-orders and shipping dates for the GS4 have been all over the map since it was announced. AT&T has changed their estimated shipping date a few times, and T-Mobile has delayed their launch until Monday, April 29. Sprint also scrapped its planned Saturday, April 27 release due to unforeseen shortages of the device.

Motorola unveiled the Droid RAZR Maxx HD at today's Motorola event in New York City. Pre-orders open on September 5th, at 5 p.m. ET at http://www.verizonwireless.com/droidrazrm and will be available on September 13th in Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online at Verizon Wireless for $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate with a new two-year customer agreement.

The Droid RAZR Maxx HD features 4G LTE speeds for watching movies, television shows and other video content on its 4.7-inch Super AMOLED HD display. The 3,300mAh battery allows for up to 21 hours of talk time, 13 hours of video playback or eight hours of web browsing on LTE. Other features include: a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, 1 GB RAM, mobile hotspot capabilities for up to eight Wi-Fi-enabled devices, an 8-megapixel camera with LED flash and 1080p HD recording, and NFC Android Beam capabilities.

Verizon Publishes Motorola Droid 4 Ice Cream Sandwich Changelog

Verizon approved the Android 4.0 update for the Droid 4 on Monday. The carrier also published the complete changelog, and is expected to begin the soak test sometime today. Besides the upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich, the update will bring better quality pictures, global roaming capabilities, a remote diagnostics tool, plus other improvements and fixes. Android 4.0 will add new features like Face Unlock and improved multi-tasking.

The update should begin rolling out in a few days If today's soak test is successful. You can either wait to be notified, or check for the OTA download by navigating to Menu Key > Settings > About phone > System updates > Download.

Samsung Galaxy S III Wireless Charging Station Spotted at Verizon Stores

Even though the official Samsung wireless charging kit has been delayed until September,
a Verizon-branded charging station is headed to Verizon stores. The wireless charging station, spotted by a PhoneArena reader, should work with most smartphones that support wireless charging.

Galaxy S III owners can wait until September for the official Samsung kit, or purchase the official Samsung wireless back cover for $39, and the Verizon charging kit for $50 (marked down from $70).

Verizon has finally announced that the Samsung Galaxy S III will be available at Verizon Wireless Communications Stores and online at www.verizonwireless.com/galaxys3 on July 10. Verizon is the last major U.S. carrier to launch the 4G LTE Samsung device. AT&T, T-Mobile and Sprint released the Galaxy S III in June after slight delays due to “unprecedented demand” and “manufacturer supply constraints."

Customers can take advantage of the S3's fast speeds thanks to Verizon Wireless' 4G LTE network. It features Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich), mobile hotspot capabilities for sharing a 4G LTE connection with up to 10 Wi-Fi-enabled devices, a 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, and 2GB of RAM. The S3 also ships with Share Shot, S Beam, S Voice and Pop Up Play.

Verizon has confirmed that the Droid Incredible 4G LTE will be released on July 5th like last week's leaked document suggested.

The 4G LTE Incredible ships with Android 4.0, the latest version of HTC Sense, HTC Video Pic and Android Beam. Additional features include an 8-megapixel camera, a 4-inch super LCD qHD display, and a 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor.

Don't get too excited, but Droid fans may have something extra to celebrate after July 4th. According to a leaked Verizon memo obtained by Droid-Life, HTC's Droid Incredible 4G LTE should be available on July 5th for $200 with a two-year contract.

Which US Carriers Will Offer the Samsung Galaxy S3?

Samsung officially announced the Galaxy S III in London on May 3rd. In addition to announcing the highly anticipated phone, the Korean manufacturer also noted that the GS3 would be launching globally in 145 countries and across 296 operators. U.S. customers can expected the device to arrive stateside this summer, but the big question is who will be carrying the new handset?

According to the The Verge, Sprint is ready and capable of carrying the phone, but if you head on over to the Galaxy S3 signup page, you will notice that Samsung lists all the major U.S. carriers (plus a few local ones) under the "carrier preference" option. Perhaps they are just trying to get a handle on which carrier would be the most in-demand once the GS3 officially launches?

UPDATE: It looks like the "carrier preference" option was removed. You can see the drop box of carriers listed originally from the Phandroid screenshot above.

Samsung published a list of devices that will be receiving Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich updates in the future. AT&T devices include: Galaxy S II, Galaxy S II Skyrocket, Galaxy Note, Captivate Glide, Nexus S and Galaxy Tab 8.9. Sprint Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch users can expect to join Nexus S 4G owners in enjoying ICS in the near future.

HTC Droid Incredible 4G: Specs and Pricing Revealed

Early specs and pricing for the HTC Droid Incredible 4G mysteriously appeared on Verizon's DroidDoes site on Monday. It's unclear whether Verizon intended to out the phone this early, but a rundown of the specs revealed that the Incredible 4G will feature a 1.2GHz CPU, 1GB RAM, and a 4-inch qHD Super LCD display. The Droid Incredible will also ship with Android 4.0 and HTC Sense 4.

Other specs include: an 8MP rear-facing camera, 1080p HD video recording, VGA front-facing camera, an LTE hotspot mode with support for up to 10 devices, Beats Audio for "studio-quality sound," 1700mAh battery, 8GB internal memory and up to 32GB expandable memory. The phones dimensions are listed as 2.4 x 4.8 x 0.46 inches and it weighs 4.66 ounces.
