HTC Announces Quad-Core Desire 600 Smartphone

The mid-range market will soon get some of HTC's flagship features on the upcoming Desire 600 smartphone. Running Android Jelly Bean, the Desire 600 will include the same Sense 5 experience that launched on the HTC One, with BlinkFeed and BoomSound. The device also packs a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 processor.

Despite a lower price, the Desire 600 will offer dual SIM card slots, an 8 megapixel rear camera, 1.6 megapixel front camera, and a 4.5-inch super LCD2 720p display (960 x 540 pixel resolution). The Sense 5 user interface is a highlight of the HTC One, which launched in March.

LG Optimus G Pro Now Available at AT&T

Just a quick reminder, the LG Optimus G Pro is now available from AT&T for $200 on contract or $550 contract-free. The 5.5-inch flagship device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.7GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, and features a 13MP full HD rear-facing camera, and a 2.1MP front-facing camera. It ships with Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, QuickMemo, VuTalk and it is 4G LTE capable.

The Optimus G Pro is available with 32GB of internal memory, with support for up to 64GB of expandable memory. Other features include: Bluetooth 4.0, mobile hotspot capabilities for up to 8 devices, NFC, and up to 15.5 hours of talk time thanks to its long-lasting 3,140 mAh battery.

Samsung Announces New Dual SIM Smartphone

Samsung announced today the Galaxy Core smartphone with dual SIM technology and a 1.2 GHz dual core processor. The 4.3-inch handset features 8GB of internal memory, 1GB of RAM and a microSD slot for memory expansion. The Galaxy Core sports a long-lasting 1,800mAh battery, a 5MP camera, and it ships with Motion UI, Smart Stay, Smart Alert and S Voice.

Motion UI allows users to activate certain functions with "simple motion commands". Smart Stay saves battery life by powering down the device's display when a user looks away, and Smart Alert warns a user about missed calls when they pick up their phone. S Voice gives the Galaxy Core voice command functionality.

The LG Optimus G Pro will be an AT&T exclusive for $200 on-contract starting on May 10. The new handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.7GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, and features Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. The G Pro also boasts a 5.5" 1080p full HD IPS display, a 13MP full HD rear-facing camera, and a 2.1MP front-facing camera.

HTC One 32GB Unlocked Model Now Available

HTC is now accepting orders for the unlocked 32GB model of the HTC One. The carrier-free version features all the same specs as the other models. It's powered by a 1.7Ghz quad-core CPU, and ships with 2GB of RAM and Android 4.1.2 with Sense 5. The unlocked model is $575, which is cheaper than the 64GB developer edition that sells for $650.

Both the unlocked and developer models have been listed as "out of stock" on HTC's website since HTC One pre-orders opened. So if you've been waiting for the unlocked model, now is the time to nab it. You can buy the unlocked model through HTC's website.

AT&T Quietly Bumps Up Galaxy S4 Release Date

AT&T has quietly moved its Galaxy S4 launch date from April 30 to April 23. That's around the same time it is set to ship from Sprint and T-Mobile. Samsung fans can pre-order the device now from AT&T, Sprint and US Cellular. T-Mobile is not accepting early orders, but customers can nab the device on April 24 for $149.99 down at T-Mobile.com. Sprint is taking $100 off the GS4 price for new customers who switch their phone numbers.

The 16GB Galaxy S4 from AT&T is available in Black Mist or White Frost for $199 with a new two-year contract. AT&T is also offering the GS4 off contract for $650. US Cellular is also offering the GS4 for $200 with a new two-year agreement. The regional carrier will also toss in a free S View Flip Cover if you pre-order now.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Coming to Sprint and T-Mobile Late April

Sprint has announced Galaxy S4 pre-orders will open on April 18th, and will start shipping on April 27th. The carrier is offering $100 in instant credit to new customers who switch their phone number to Sprint. Existing customers can nab a 16GB model for $250 with a new two-year contract. You can pre-order the flagship Samsung handset at www.sprint.com/galaxys4 on the 18th, or personally pick one up from Sprint Stores and Sprint retailers on the 27th.

T-Mobile will not be offering pre-orders, but T-Mobile customers can purchase their GS4 at T-Mobile.com on April 24 for just $149.99 down - plus monthly device payments. That's a lot more money down than we had originally predicted. The T-Mobile Galaxy S4 comes contract free with unlimited talk, text and web thanks to T-Mobile's new Simple Choice Plans.

Pre-Order the Samsung Galaxy S4 [AT&T and US Cellular]

Both AT&T and US Cellular have opened pre-orders for the Samsung Galaxy S4. AT&T is accpeting pre-orders for the 16GB model, in either White Frost or Black Mist, for $200 with a two-year contract. You can also nab an off-contract model for $640. US Cellular is only offering the 16GB model for $200 with a new two-year contract.

The GS4 will start shipping on April 30th, according to the AT&T page. There is also supposed to be a 32GB Galaxy S4 model for $250, but it hasn't materialized today. T-Mobile is expected to release its GS4 model at the beginning of May.

HTC First with Facebook Home Now Available from AT&T

The HTC First smartphone is now available from AT&T for $99. The new handset is the first device to ship with Facebook's custom Android launcher, and is an AT&T exclusive. It features a 4.3-inch 720p display, 5MP camera, and it's powered by a dual-core Qualcomm processor.

Facebook Home transforms your device into a social networking hub. The custom Facebook UI allows you to keep track of your News Feed directly from the home and lock screens of your phone. You can easily swipe through updates, double tap to "Like" a post and comment directly from your cover feed. You can even post, comment and chat while using other apps, or surfing the web.

Sprint Now Accepting HTC One Pre-Orders

Sprint is now accepting pre-orders for the HTC One. The flagship handset is $199 with a new two-year contract, and will begin shipping on April 19th. That's a few days after the AT&T HTC One model will begin shipping, but ordering now will ensure you will be one of the first to receive the new device on Sprint's network. Sprint is also offering $100 off the phone when you bring your number to them on a new line of service.

The HTC One was announced on Tuesday, February 19th with an expected March release, but unforeseen delays caused its launch to be pushed back to April in the U.S.. Sprint's model was also slightly delayed due to a manufacturing problem. HTC plans to launch the HTC One through 185 mobile operators and major retailers in more than 80 regions and countries in 2013.
