Samsung Announces White Samsung Galaxy S II Epic 4G Touch

Thu, 01/05/2012 - 17:24 -- Marshall Walker

I never understood the white phone thing. It's not like you are going to trade in your black model for the same model in white. I guess it gives new customers a choice, but it's kind of like a slap in the face to previous owners. If white phones are your thing, Samsung has announced the Samsung Galaxy II, Epic 4G Touch in Frost White. It's the same phone as before, but in white. The white version will be available from Sprint starting Jan. 8 for $199.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus is also getting the white treatment in the UK. It will be available midway through January. A black 32GB HSPA+ model has also been announced for the UK. Once again the white model features the same specs, features and Ice Cream Sandwich like the original model.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus as Low as $149 For New Customers [Deals]

Fri, 12/16/2011 - 17:06 -- Marshall Walker

On Thursday we listed the Samsung Galaxy Nexus at $199 via Amazon Wireless. Today we noticed the price has been dropped to $149 with a new two-year contract (pricing may be higher for those upgrading, visit Amazon Wireless to see if you qualify). Amazon probably dropped the price because the handset is on "backorder," but according to the listing the phone should ship in 8 to 9 days.

The Galaxy Nexus is $299.99 on VerizonWireless.com, and only $189.99 from Wirefly with a new two-year contract. An upgraded contract will cost you $239.99. Wirefly's shipping is listed as 5 to 7 days. These are some great deals for new Verizon customers who are looking to make the leap to Android 4.0, Ice Cream Sandwich.

Is the Galaxy Nexus Ever Coming to the U.S.?

Thu, 12/08/2011 - 16:49 -- Marshall Walker

Samsung has been having some fun at Apple's expense with their latest advertising campaign. The only problem is instead of pushing the Galaxy Nexus in the U.S., the ads are for the Galaxy S II because there is no Nexus to sell! It looks like Apple is having the last laugh while Verizon and Samsung make Android fans wait for some unknown reason.

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus was released in parts of Europe last month, and it arrived in Canada today via Virgin Mobile and Bell. The handset is selling for $160 with a three year contract. U.S. customers who don't mind traveling can nab one for $650 to use on AT&T or T-Mobile

The latest rumors have the device launching in the U.S. tomorrow, but since there has been no word from Verizon it doesn't seem likely. On Thursday, Droid Life reported that multiple sources confirmed the Nexus' release date has been delayed due to possible 4G LTE issues.

Samsung Galaxy Nexus Retail Packaging Confirms December 9 Release Date?

Mon, 12/05/2011 - 17:32 -- Marshall Walker

Pictures of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus in its final retail packaging has Android fans hoping the rumored December 9th release date is true. Someone posted four photos of the highly anticipated device and its box on the XDA forums. Even better, a "reliable" Phandroid tipster said the Galaxy Nexus is headed to Verizon stores this week.

Previous Verizon leaks and false tips promising a November launch have already let us down, and the XDA pictures haven't been confirmed as real... Meaning, I wouldn't get my hopes up until we hear something official, but a release before this weekend does seem possible.

LG Optimus LTE Headed To America?

According to Phandroid, an invite they received from LG did not mention any particular phone, but the file name read "LG Nitro." This lead them to believe the new phone will be announced next month, but nothing has been confirmed.

When Will the Samsung Galaxy Nexus be Available?

Thu, 11/03/2011 - 15:02 -- Marshall Walker

Samsung has left Android fans guessing about a Galaxy Nexus release date since they launched the teaser video back in October. Why even bother announcing the phone if you are not going to let people know when they can buy it?

The latest leak revealed the Galaxy Nexus could be arriving online and at Verizon stores on November 17th. Other rumors suggest it will be released after Black Friday. Maybe Samsung wants to ensure the device will bomb by releasing it after the biggest shopping day of the year?

Verizon Leaks Possible Samsung Galaxy Nexus Release Date

Sat, 10/22/2011 - 20:20 -- Marshall Walker

Verizon officially confirmed what we already knew. They will be carrying the Samsung Galaxy Nexus... But when? A leaked screenshot of a Verizon MAP shows the release date of November 10. As you can see from the image below, it also shows the Droid RAZR listed with its pre-order date of Oct 27.

If the MAP is correct, then it looks like you can expect Galaxy Nexus pre-orders to begin in early November or on November 10. You can also see the rumored $300 price tag for the 16GB model looks to be accurate. Still no word on how much the 32GB model will cost yet.
