If you've just pre-ordered a new HTC One from AT&T or Sprint, you are probably already looking for a new case to protect it. Luckily, the smartphone accessory maker OtterBox has already extended its Defender and Commuter series of cases to include the new HTC handset.

Sprint is now accepting pre-orders for the HTC One. The flagship handset is $199 with a new two-year contract, and will begin shipping on April 19th. That's a few days after the AT&T HTC One model will begin shipping, but ordering now will ensure you will be one of the first to receive the new device on Sprint's network. Sprint is also offering $100 off the phone when you bring your number to them on a new line of service.

The HTC One was announced on Tuesday, February 19th with an expected March release, but unforeseen delays caused its launch to be pushed back to April in the U.S.. Sprint's model was also slightly delayed due to a manufacturing problem. HTC plans to launch the HTC One through 185 mobile operators and major retailers in more than 80 regions and countries in 2013.

AT&T Finally Opens HTC One Pre-Orders

After a slight delay AT&T is finally accepting pre-orders for the HTC One smartphone. AT&T customers had a small scare when pre-orders did not open this morning like many assumed they would, however, HTC fans can now breathe easily. The carrier has opened pre-orders for the 32GB and 64GB models in Glacial Silver.


The 32GB model is $200 and the 64GB version is $300. Both versions require a two-year contract with qualifying voice and data plans. Customers who order now will also receive a free HTC Media Link HD wireless HDMI adapter with their purchase. The adapter allows users to wirelessly share media from their phone to a high-definition TV.

AT&T Announces 16GB Samsung Galaxy S4 for $200

Hot on the heels of its HTC One announcement, AT&T has confirmed it will offer a 16GB Galaxy S4 for $200. AT&T previously announced plans to release a 32GB model for $250, but gave no mention of 16GB version. Both AT&T and US Cellular will begin accepting pre-orders for the Galaxy S4 on April 16th.

AT&T's exclusive 64GB HTC One has been priced at $300, while the 32GB model will sell for $200. It will be interesting to see if AT&T customers gravitate towards the HTC One model since it offers more storage for the same price. However, Samsung's flagship device does offer expandable memory, while the HTC flagship does not.

Both AT&T and Sprint have announced that the HTC One will be available on April 19. AT&T will start accepting pre-orders on April 4, and Sprint will open pre-orders on April 5. AT&T's exclusive 64GB model will retail for $300. The 32GB model will cost $200 with a two-year contract through both AT&T and Sprint. AT&T customers who pre-order the device on April 4 will also receive a free HTC Media Link HD. Both the AT&T HTC One models will feature DriveMode, Ready2Go and other AT&T bloatware.

T-Mobile will also be carrying the HTC One under its new "uncarrier" plan. Complete pricing and availability are unknown, but the HTC One is expected to follow the same pricing model as T-Mobile's newly announced iPhone 5. The iPhone 5 is $99 with 24 monthly payments of $20 (or $580 over two years) through T-Mobile.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Rooted Before Launch

A few developers have already rooted the Samsung Galaxy S4 before its official April launch. Early adopters can check out the video below for all the necessary information one will need to gain root access to the unreleased device. The root is only for the Exynos 5 Octa model, not devices sporting Qualcomm's Snapdragon 600. According to rumors, this eliminates 70% of the initial Galaxy S4 batch shipping in a few weeks. The "octa" units are being reserved for European countries with poor LTE availability.

Both AT&T and regional carrier US Cellular announced they will start accepting Galaxy S4 pre-orders on April 16th. T-Mobile will offer the GS4 contract free, but locked, starting sometime in May. The flagship handset from Samsung will cost $250 with a two year contract. It is unknown how much the unsubsidized T-Mobile model will cost.

AT&T to Offer Exclusive 64GB HTC One

AT&T has announced it will be carrying an exclusive version of the HTC One. According to a video released through its YouTube page, AT&T will be the only carrier offering a 64GB version of the flagship smartphone. Pricing and availability have still not been announced, but it is expected to launch sometime in April. The five-minute video mostly highlights the smartphone's new features like HTC BlinkFeed, the HTC UltraPixel camera and more.


HTC announced the HTC One at simultaneous events in London and New York on Tuesday, February 19th. HTC previously planned to launch the phone in March, but delays have caused its release date to be pushed back until April.
