The Motorola Backflip will be released on March 7, 2010 by AT&T Wireless. The first Android phone on the AT&T network, the Backflip will support HSPA 7.2 and run Motorola's social networking software MOTOBLUR. The device features a 5MP camera to record photos and video, and a large keyboard that flips over and deactivates when not in use. With a two-year contract and mail-in rebate the Backflip will cost $99.99.

AT&T Wireless fans now have their first opportunity to purchase an Android smartphone from the carrier. The Motorola Backflip is one of five Android handsets the company plans to release in the first half of 2010.

The device features a large keyboard that flips over instead of sliding. When the Backflip is folded closed the keyboard is not hidden, it remains exposed and deactivated on the back of the phone.

Release date for the Motorola Backflip on the AT&T Wireless network is March 7, 2010. This is the first Android phone to be offered on the AT&T network.

The Backflip features MOTOBLUR social networking software and will cost $99.99 subsidized with a new contract and a mail-in rebate.
