Droid RAZR MAXX Available Today: Adds 21 Hours of Talk Time
Submitted by Marshall Walker on Thu, 01/26/2012 - 15:42The Droid RAZR MAXX is available starting today from Verizon Wireless. The Maxx is basically the same phone as the original Razr with extra battery life. Motorola claims the new 3,300 mAh battery is good for up to 21.5hrs of talk time.

The Droid Maxx is still "impossibly thin" like its predecessor, and is equipped with an 8-megapixel camera, 4G LTE capabilities and a duel-core processor. It ships with Android 2.3.5 but is upgradable to Ice Cream Sandwich.

Samsung has already promised to make battery life a top priority in 2012, and Motorola has a pretty crazy plan set for next month. According to Engadget, Moto plans to hold a 24-hour marathon battery event for the Droid RAZR Maxx on February 6th.

Nothing has been officially confirmed, but you will probably want to mark these dates on your calendar. January 26th for the launch of the RAZR Maxx, and February 6th to see what kind of event Motorola has planned.
Motorola Announces Droid RAZR MAXX
Submitted by Marshall Walker on Mon, 01/09/2012 - 19:03Motorola has announced two new additions to the Droid family -- the Droid Razr Maxx and the Droid Razr Purple. Both are the same "impossibly thin" smartphone but the Maxx comes with an extended battery life and 32GB of storage. The Droid Maxx will cost $300 with a new two year contract.

The purple version is $199 and features 16 GB of storage. Both are powered by the Verizon Wireless 4G LTE network and run on Android 2.3.5 Gingerbread. Both devices will be upgraded to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in the future. Check out the official press release below.
Motorola Fixes DROID RAZR Connectivity Issues With New Software Update

The update fixes a few bugs and includes an important improvement for 3G/4G data connectivity. The RAZR and Verizon Galaxy Nexus have recently been suffering from unexplained signal problems. This update should fix the issue for RAZR owners. Verizon is also currently working on a fix for the Galaxy Nexus.

RAZR users should start seeing OTA updates starting today. If you do not want to wait, you can update your phone manually by going to menu > settings > about phone > check for updates. Check out the complete list of changes and fixes below.

It involved some tedious process of entering codes to unlock a piece of a puzzle, but thankfully Droid Life saved us all some time and sanity by just publishing the image.

The picture backs up Motorola's claim that the device will be "thinner," and gives us a glimpse of the kevlar backing. The image also shows the Verizon logo, side lock switch and new Droid eye. The Droid Razr is rumored to be faster than the iPhone 4S, and to feature a 1.2GHz dual-core processor and 4.3-inch display.

Droid X2 Gingerbread Update to Start Rolling Out Today [Complete Changelog]

The update is being released in batches until everyone has it. So don't panic if you do not receive your notification today. It may take until the weekend for everyone to get theirs.
The update will provide several improvements, fixes and new features like the Download Manager App, the latest version of Blur and security improvements.
