HTC is looking to boost sales of its flagship One handset by offering up to $350 for trade-ins. The limited time offer begins today and ends on Sunday, May 5th. Smartphone users looking to nab a brand new HTC One can trade in their Apple, BlackBerry or Android device for a $100 to $350 prepaid Visa card.

HTC Officially Announces HTC One Flagship Smartphone

HTC officially announced its new flagship HTC One smartphone at two simultaneous events in London and New York on Tuesday, February 19th. The HTC One is one of the first smartphones to utilize Qualcomm's quad-core Snapdragon 600 processor. It sports a Gorilla Glass 2 protected 4.7-inch 1080p Super LCD 3 display and a machined aluminum shell. It weighs 143 grams and measures at 5.4 (137.4mm) x 2.7 (68.2mm) x 0.37 (9.3mm) inches.

There are dual stereo speakers with a dedicated proprietary amp designed for reducing distortion, and two capacitive buttons (back and home) positioned on the front of the device. There is also a 2.1 MP front-facing camera with 88-degree wide-angle lens capable of capturing 1080p video. On the back of the handset you'll find what HTC is calling the "UltraPixel camera" and a single LED flash.

Verizon has confirmed that the Droid Incredible 4G LTE will be released on July 5th like last week's leaked document suggested.

Don't get too excited, but Droid fans may have something extra to celebrate after July 4th. According to a leaked Verizon memo obtained by Droid-Life, HTC's Droid Incredible 4G LTE should be available on July 5th for $200 with a two-year contract.

HTC EVO 4G LTE Pre-Orders Begin Shipping in the US [Sprint]

Sprint has sent out shipping notifications to customers who pre-ordered the HTC EVO 4G LTE. A problem with the International Trade Commission and the United States customs delayed shipments to the U.S.. However, the ban has been lifted and customers can expect to start receiving their phones "on or around Thursday, May 24," according to Sprint.

HTC Releases Ice Cream Sandwich Roadmap

HTC has released a timeline and FAQ for all its devices receiving Android 4.0. All phones will be receiving upgrades by the end of August, with the majority of devices receiving upgrades in June and July.

Some of the devices receiving upgrades include the discontinued HTC EVO 3D, DROID Incredible 2, HTC Desire S and the HTC Amaze 4G. HTC notes that some rollouts can take up to 45 days. HTC Droid Incredible 4G: Specs and Pricing Revealed

Early specs and pricing for the HTC Droid Incredible 4G mysteriously appeared on Verizon's DroidDoes site on Monday. It's unclear whether Verizon intended to out the phone this early, but a rundown of the specs revealed that the Incredible 4G will feature a 1.2GHz CPU, 1GB RAM, and a 4-inch qHD Super LCD display. The Droid Incredible will also ship with Android 4.0 and HTC Sense 4.

Other specs include: an 8MP rear-facing camera, 1080p HD video recording, VGA front-facing camera, an LTE hotspot mode with support for up to 10 devices, Beats Audio for "studio-quality sound," 1700mAh battery, 8GB internal memory and up to 32GB expandable memory. The phones dimensions are listed as 2.4 x 4.8 x 0.46 inches and it weighs 4.66 ounces.

HTC Officially Unlocks Six More Devices

HTC has added the HTC Desire Z, ChaCha, Aria, DROID Incredible, Status, and T-Mobile G2 to their growing list of officially unlocked devices. Some of these devices have already been unlocked by the Android community, but this is an official and safer way to unlock your bootloader.


The HTC Dev program requires five-steps to unlock your device. HTC strongly suggests that you do not unlock the bootloader unless you are confident you understand the risks involved. Unlocking your device could cause damage to your phone that is not covered under the warranty.

If you are nervous about unlocking your device HTC has come up with a safe solution. The HTC Dev program allows you to officially unlock your bootloader without using community-developed tools. On Wednesday, HTC added T-Mobile's myTouch 4G Slide and the EVO View 4G to their long list of unlockable devices.


Unlocking your device may void your warranty, and HTC warns that you should not unlock the bootloader "unless you are confident that you understand the risks involved."
