Motorola Fixes DROID RAZR Connectivity Issues With New Software Update

Motorola rolled out a new software update for the DROID RAZR on Monday. The update fixes a few bugs and includes an important improvement for 3G/4G data connectivity. The RAZR and Verizon Galaxy Nexus have recently been suffering from unexplained signal problems. This update should fix the issue for RAZR owners. Verizon is also currently working on a fix for the Galaxy Nexus.

RAZR users should start seeing OTA updates starting today. If you do not want to wait, you can update your phone manually by going to menu > settings > about phone > check for updates. Check out the complete list of changes and fixes below.

Upgrade Your Motorola Xoom to 4G LTE

The Motorola Xoom 4G LTE upgrade will begin on Thursday (9/29/11) for all Xoom owners. The upgrade requires existing owners to ship their tablets back to Motorola to have the LTE radio installed. New customers can pick up a 4G ready Xoom from Verizon starting on October 13th for around $500.

The Motorola XOOM 4G LTE Upgrade is Rolling Out Early, But Not For Everyone!

We've been burned by Motorola Xoom 4G LTE e-mails before. At least this time Droid Life actually published a screen shot of an e-mail with directions on how to receive the upgrade, but don't get too excited, it's not for everyone!

A 4G LTE capable Xoom isn't a fantasy, back in June Motorola sent e-mails to a few Xoom customers asking them to return their tablets so they could receive their upgrades. Motorola later revealed that it was an automated e-mail error:

Maintenance Update Makes HTC EVO 3D Even Better

The HTC EVO 3D maintenance update has arrived a few days early. Improvements include: lockscreen freeze fix, Facebook birthday fix, GPS fix, the ability to transfer contacts over Bluetooth, and more freedom while removing bloatware.

Sprint already allows the removal of some pre-installed apps, so it will be interesting to see what new bloatware you will be able to trash after the upgrade.

AT&T promised HTC Inspire 4G owners an Android 2.3 Gingerbread update in August, and today they delivered by rolling out over the air updates to certain devices. You can wait to be notified about the update, or you can check for it by going to: Home>Menu>Settings>AT&T Software Update >HTC Wi-Fi software update >Check now.

Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Software Update Gets A Release Date [Full Details]

The Galaxy Tab 10.1 Wi-Fi model is getting a major upgrade from Samsung on August 5th. The software update includes the new TouchWiz UX user interface, Adobe's Flash Player 10.3, and a redesigned Samsung Media Hub service.

We already told you about the magazine-like widget called Live Panel, the Mini Apps Tray, and Quick Panel, but there are many more features being added than we originally reported. The official press release also mentions a new copy & paste function that allows you to store pictures and YouTube links more easily, a photo editor for cropping and rotating pictures, and a new indicator panel for toggling functions is being added to the bottom of the display.

Droid X2 Gingerbread Update to Start Rolling Out Today [Complete Changelog]

According to various sources, Droid X2 owners will start receiving Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) updates over the air starting today. The update is being released in batches until everyone has it. So don't panic if you do not receive your notification today. It may take until the weekend for everyone to get theirs.

The update will provide several improvements, fixes and new features like the Download Manager App, the latest version of Blur and security improvements.

Asus Testing Android 3.2 on Eee Pad Transformer: Should Be Released 'Soon'

This would be exciting news if people could actually get their hands on an Asus’ Eee Pad Transformer. The last we heard, the company was planning to ship 300,000 units in June. Hopefully that was enough to end the shortage of tablets in the U.S..

Droid Incredible 2 Android 2.3 Upgrade Officially Rolling Out Today

Some Verizon Wireless subscribers will start receiving Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) updates for their HTC Droid Incredible 2 smartphones starting as early as tonight. In May, 911Sniper leaked Android 2.3.3 for the Incredible 2, and rumors had HTC releasing their official version sometime in June.
