On the same day Apple disappointed their fans by announcing the iPhone 4S instead of the iPhone 5, Samsung released a teaser video for their "big" upcoming announcement. Even though the video is a bit vague, the company is expected to announce its new Nexus Prime smartphone on October 11th at the Samsung Unpacked event.
The new device is rumored to be the flagship phone for the newest version of Android known as Ice Cream Sandwich. Unconfirmed specs include a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, 4.6-inch Super AMOLED touchscreen, 8-megapixel camera and 1GB of RAM.
Apple is having trouble convincing some fans that the iPhone 4S is their "most amazing iPhone yet," making this the perfect time for Samsung and Google to unveil the latest version of Android and Nexus phone.
Meanwhile, Samsung announced they will continue their patent war with Apple by filing two injunction requests to block sales of the iPhone 4S in France and Italy.
"Apple has continued to flagrantly violate our intellectual property rights and free ride on our technology," Samsung said in a statement. "We believe it is now necessary to take legal action to protect our innovation."
