Nexus One Now Available for AT&T / Rogers 3G Networks

After what has likely seemed like an eternity to prospective Nexus One owners currently under contract with AT&T or Rogers, or hoping to use Google's flagship Android phone on either of those networks, a new version of the Google Nexus One that supports AT&T and Rogers 3G bands (850/1900/2100 MHz) is now available.
The new version of the Nexus One was posted today on Google's Nexus One site. The AT&T/Rogers version of the Nexus One can be ordered directly from Google for a non-contract price of $529. Though T-Mobile customers were also able to buy the device, with a 2 year contract, for a subsidized price of $179, at this time neither AT&T or Rogers are selling the device at a subsidized price. No word on whether either carrier plans to in the near future.
The release of this new version of the Nexus One comes amidst reports of disappointing and sluggish Nexus One sales. Several outlets are reporting, for instance, that the iPad (in one weekend) has already outsold the Nexus One. Now, this may be comparing tangerines and oranges, but the numbers are nonetheless surprising.
Certainly, Google and HTC must be hopeful that opening the Nexus One to a very large group of previously unavailable customers will provide a much needed boost in device sales.

But not for long maybe. I don't think government has any business mucking about with large companies or any company whatsoever, unless they clearly screw up - but that said, as an exec, if the company you're in charge of is losing so much money that you need payday loans from the government, you DESERVE to not get paid much. That's why I don't care if Kenneth Feinberg, or the Pay Czar, pays the heads of AIG, GM, and Chrysler collectively $5 for the next two years. The company wages should be almost nothing - they were that malfeasant, they deserve no bonuses or raises.
