It's a Great Time to Buy an ASUS Transformer Prime: The World's First Ice Cream Sandwich Tablet

If you passed on buying an Asus Transformer Prime because it was too hard to find, now is a great time to pick one up. Not only is the tablet back in stock on Amazon, but Asus announced that the Transformer Prime is the world's first Ice Cream Sandwich tablet at CES on Monday.

Ice Cream Sandwich 4.0

The OTA updates were supposed to begin on January 12, but lucky Prime owners started receiving them them a few days early. If you have not received the update, you can check for it manually by going to the "Firmware Update" section of your tablet's "About Tablet" settings menu.

A 7-inch Transformer Prime with Android 4.0 was also announced at the NVIDIA press conference on Monday. The 7-inch tablet will utilize NVIDIA’s quad-core Tegra 3 processor, and will only cost around $250. Not a bad price for a tablet that out-powers the Amazon Kindle Fire. The new 7-inch tablet is still in development, so no release date was announced.
