HTC Inspire 4G Coming to AT&T for $99
Ninety-nine bucks (and a two-year contract) is all it will take to buy the HTC Inspire 4G from AT&T starting on February 13, 2011. The device is the first of its kind on the AT&T network, and will take advantage of the company's nationwide HSPA+ technology. Download speeds are expected to start at 6 Mbps with a theoretical maximum of 21 Mbps in the works.

AT&T Mobility has been preparing itself for post-iPhone exclusivity, a position it has enjoyed since the launch of the original iPhone in mid-2007. Verizon Wireless will launch a CDMA variant of the iPhone 4 starting in the first week of February.
The HTC Inspire 4G may lure some prospective iPhone customers with the largest screen offered by AT&T to date, a 4.3 inch WVGA (480x800) super LCD capacitive touch display. The device runs Android 2.2 and records HD video and 8 MP photos with a built-in flash.
Here are some more specs:
- 1 GHz Snapdragon processor
- 4 GB internal storage and included 8 GB microSD card
- Android Market
- 8 MP camera, Autofocus, Dual LED flash, HD video recording
- HTC Hi-Fi Experience, dual mic noise cancellation
- HTC Sense 2.0 custom user interface with FriendStream
- Mobile Hotspot support (requires DataPro Tethering plan)
- 6 hour talk time
- Unibody aluminum frame
- G-sensor, GPS and digital compass
Data plans start at $15 per month for 200 MB of usage, with a 2 GB plan available for $25 per month. Although an unlimited data plan is not available on AT&T Mobility, for $99 the HTC Inspire 4G is set to give competing smartphones a serious run for their money.
