Apple announced today that smartphone owners with Android 2.2 or higher will be seeing a new Android Market in the upcoming weeks. The updated app will allow Android users to instantly watch thousands of movies for $1.99. You can watch the movies from anywhere (web, phone or tablet) or save them to watch later without an internet connection.

Just like the movies, Books are now integrated to your Google account so you can read them instantly on your computer, phone, or tablet without having to download them.

Google has also made it easier to find the most popular apps with their new Editors' Choice, and created more space on the home page to feature the best content of the week. The new Android Market will be rolling out gradually over the next few weeks to supported phones.
