Some Verizon Wireless subscribers will start receiving Android 2.3 (Gingerbread) updates for their HTC Droid Incredible 2 smartphones starting as early as tonight. In May, 911Sniper leaked Android 2.3.3 for the Incredible 2, and rumors had HTC releasing their official version sometime in June.
The update fixes Hotmail and mobile IM issues, and offers better device connectivity, new dock apps and a bookmark for the New York Times. According to Engadget, some owners may have to wait up until a week to receive their update.
