Sprint reps have confirmed that the HTC EVO 3D has been discontinued. Engadget has learned that the 3D smartphone is no longer available via the carrier's online store. However, there are still some EVO 3Ds floating around Sprint retail outfits, but supplies are limited.
Sprint and HTC are preparing to rollout the HTC EVO 4G LTE in Q2 of 2012. The planned $199 phone features a 4.7-inch 720p HD display and 1.3MP front-facing camera. The backside features a 8MP camera and spring-loaded kickstand. The rear side is made of black aluminum, and a removable polycarbonate plastic. Underneath the polycarbonate plastic trapdoor is the microSD slot for 32GB expansion. It's also rumored to be powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 chipset.
But enough about the future... If you would like to scoop up a HTC EVO 3D before it goes the way of the dinosaur, you may want to check Amazon Wireless first. The HTC EVO 3D has been part of their Penny Pincher sale since it was released almost a year ago.
