HTC Zara Leaked Photo and Specs

Despite a recent push for secrecy, HTC can't keep the upcoming Zara smartphone under wraps. Although the device has yet to be officially revealed, @evleaks is on the scene with a photo and specifications for the Zara, which looks similar to the HTC One. Zara will sport a 4.5-inch qHD display encased by a plastic body.

Also inside, a 1.2GHz dual-core processor, 1GB of RAM, and 8GB of built-in storage space, along with a 2,100mAh battery. BoomSound and Beats Audio integration is expected, despite reports that Beats Audio is looking to drop its partnership with HTC. Front facing speakers on the Zara are similar to those found on the flagship HTC One.

Dungeons and Dragons: Arena of War Coming to Android and iOS Devices for Free

Hasbro and mobile game developer DeNA/Mobage are now accepting early registrations for their upcoming Android and iOS game Dungeons and Dragons: Arena of War. Mobage also released the first trailer for the game which you can see below.

Dungeons and Dragons: Arena of WarArena of War is part of Wizards of the Coast's D&D revamp entitled "D&D Next". The game is a 3D battle-RPG set in the Forgotten Realms, and "features iconic D&D locations such as Baldur’s Gate and monsters such as the Beholder," according to the press release. Mobage also promises the game will include a future live event that will offer an "ever-changing experience to players."

Samsung to Launch Galaxy Gear Smart Watch

Samsung's upcoming Galaxy Note 3 event keeps getting more interesting. Now according to a Bloomberg report the company plans to announce the Galaxy Gear, a wristwatch-like device, alongside the updated phablet. Samsung is eager to get in the game and compete with existing products such as Pebble and the Sony SmartWatch 2.

Much like the concept rendering above, the Galaxy Gear will be Android-powered, making phone calls, displaying email messages and accessing websites on the go. The Gear is not expected to have a flexible display, however Samsung is working on the technology for future iterations. Rumors of an Apple-designed, iOS smart watch have also been percolating, and Samsung is looking to beat Cupertino to the marketplace.

Beats Audio Wants to Drop HTC

One of HTC's biggest selling points for its new line of HTC One handsets are the dual frontal stereo speakers with an "authentic sound experience from built-in Beats Audio." However, Beats Electronics LLC is looking to part ways with it "Asian partner and bring in a new investor that can provide it with fresh funds for growth," according to Wall Street Journal.

Beats by Dr. DrePeople familiar with the matter claim the founders of Beats Audio, Jimmy Lovine and Dr. Dre, are looking to buy out HTC's 25% stake in their company. The headphone maker already bought back half of HTC's 50.1% stake last year, and purportedly aims to buy the rest of HTC's remaining interest in an effort to separate itself from the struggling smartphone and tablet maker.

HTC One mini Coming to AT&T in August

The HTC One mini will land at AT&T on August 23rd for $100 on contract. The compact version includes all the same features as the original HTC One including BlinkFeed and BoomSound. It sports a 4.3-inch 720p display and HTC's UltraPixel camera. The mini is powered by a 1.4 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, and it ships with Android 4.2.2 and 16GB of internal storage. The HTC One mini features a slightly better display than the Galaxy S4 mini (720p/341ppi vs. 540p/256ppi), but only includes 1GB of RAM, compared to the S4's 1.5GB.

Verizon HTC One Release Date Announced

Verizon Wireless has announced that the HTC One will be available on August 22 for $200 on contract. Unfortunately there is still no pre-order page, but you can still sign up for HTC One email notifications. Verizon is the last major U.S. carrier to offer HTC's flagship handset. The HTC One was announced in February, and started shipping from AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile a few months later.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Specs Revealed

Phablet fans looking forward to Samsung's official September 4th event in Berlin are expecting the company to announce the Galaxy Note III. Now thanks to sources over at SamMobile, the next Galaxy Note's specifications have been leaked. While the list may not contain any shocking surprises, Samsung appears primed to give competitors in the segment a run for their money.

In addition to some impressive specs, according to one report the Galaxy Note 3 battery will pack a whopping 3,450 mAh. Should this be true, the new battery would be the most powerful Samsung has ever installed in a smartphone, exceeding the Galaxy Note 2 by 350 mAh. While Android 4.3 has been confirmed as the default operating system, it's possible the larger battery was installed on a design prototype and will not see mass production.

Verizon Moto X Release Date Leaked, HTC One Sign Up Page Now Live

The Moto X leaks keep on coming... This time an inventory screenshot obtained by Android Central reveals that the Moto X will be available at Best Buy retail locations on the August 29th. That's six days after the previously rumored August 23rd launch date, and two days after the Droid Ultra, Maxx and Mini will start shipping on August 27th.

Verizon Wireless Moto X Shipping Screen Verizon has also opened its official HTC One email notification page. Verizon announced in July that it would start offering the HTC flagship device "later this summer," so hopefully pre-orders will open soon.

Second-Generation Nexus 7 Factory Images and Binaries Now Avilable

There has been a lot of hoopla surrounding Google's decision to delay the release of the Nexus 7 factory images, but everyone can now rest easily because they are finally publicly available. Google has posted both the factory images and binaries for Android 4.3 to their developer site. This is good news for Nexus 7 owners because developers can now begin creating custom ROMs for the new tablet.

The feud even prompted one Android fan to create a petition on asking Paul E. Jacobs, Chief Executive Officer of Qualcomm to "release the factory images of Android devices using Qualcomm CPU's and GPU's to the Android Open Source Project." The petition gained over 1,000 signatures before being closed.
