Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (8.0) Photo, Specs Leaked

The next Galaxy Tab from Samsung has leaked ahead of its official reveal. With an 8-inch display and 1.5 GHz dual-core processor, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 (8.0) is expected to launch by the end of June, according to SamMobile.com. The tablet will run Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean and come in both 3G capable and Wi-Fi only flavors.

The leaked photo above details the form factor of the Galaxy Tab 3 (8.0), which will measure 8.24 x 4.81 x 0.27 inches and feature a redesigned thinner bezel. In addition, the new Android tablet will sport a 5-megapixel rear facing camera and a 1.3-megapixel front camera. Here's the full list of leaked specifications:

Google Announces its Own Version of Samsung's Galaxy S 4

Google has unveiled a new edition of Samsung's Galaxy S 4 at its I/O keynote on Wednesday. The 16GB GS4 will run its own stock version of Android Jelly Bean and is fully unlocked. It will come equipped with LTE support for AT&T and T-Mobile, and will be offered through Google Play on June 26.

Google Galaxy S 4 “This is Google’s take on Android, and it feels really awesome on the Galaxy S4,” said Hugo Barra, vice president of product management for Android.

The Google-branded GS4 won't come cheap. Google plans to offer the device off-contract for $649. That's a lot of money when compared to Google's $300 Nexus 4, but there is no comparison when it comes to devices. The Galaxy S 4 blows the Nexus out of the water when it comes to specs and quality.

Google Launches All Access Music Streaming Service

Google unveiled its new streaming music service at Google I/O 2013 on Wednesday. The paid service has been dubbed Google Play Music All Access. Google Music allows users to customize song selections and stream individual playlists, or listen to a curated Spotify-like radio stream. Subscribers can also skip songs they do not like, and utilize the Listen Now feature, which suggests new releases based on your listening habits.

Google I/O 2013 Google Play Music All Access launches in the U.S. starting today for $10 a month with a 30-day free trial. Users who sign up before June 30th will receive $2 off the subscription fee.

Karateka Kicks its Way onto Android and iOS Devices on May 16th

The classic Apple II video game Karateka (not to be confused with Gymkata) is making its way to Google Play and the Apple App Store at the end of May. Jordan Mechner developed the side-scrolling / fighting game while attending Yale University in 1984. The game was eventually ported to the Atari 800, Commodore 64 and other consoles after its initial release.

This new release is the original game, and not the remake that hit Xbox Live and PlayStation Network in 2012. iOS users can buy the 2012 version through the App Store for $2.99. Karateka Classic will be available for both Android and iOS devices on May 16 for $0.99. So don't get confused.

Cydia Substrate Now Available on Android

Android fans with rooted devices now have a whole new way to customize their software and operating system thanks to the release of Cydia Substrate on Google Play. Cydia is commonly known as the iOS jailbreak app store. Cydia Substrate, in contrast, is a tool for developers to help them modify any software running on Android devices.

While installing Cydia Substrate at this time won't do much for end users, it's likely that developers will release a multitude of tweaks and other customizations to the proprietary software running on many Android phones and tablets. In fact, the popular iOS theming app WinterBoard has already been released on Google Play by Saurik. Custom ROMs or custom launchers are not needed to implement themes, because the modifications are all handled by Cydia Substrate.

Carmageddon Now Available for Android Devices

The classic PC video game Carmageddon is now available for Android devices through Google Play. The game was produced by Stainless Games in 1997, and it was inspired by the 1975 cult classic Roger Corman film Death Race 2000.

In Carmageddon, players must win races in a certain amount of time while also running over pedestrians, and trashing their competitor's cars for bonuses. The game has spawned two sequels, and was ported to the PlayStation, Nintendo 64 and Game Boy Color. The original Carmageddon release also caused a lot of controversy and was banned in several countries.

Just a quick reminder, the LG Optimus G Pro is now available from AT&T for $200 on contract or $550 contract-free. The 5.5-inch flagship device is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 1.7GHz quad-core processor with 2GB of RAM, and features a 13MP full HD rear-facing camera, and a 2.1MP front-facing camera. Marvel Unlimited Now Available for Android

Marvel's digital subscription program is now available through Google Play for Android devices. Originally released for iOS, Marvel Unlimited gives users access to the Marvel archive, which spans over 70 years of comics. The official website also promises members-only deals on comic books and merchandise, plus the ability to download issues and read them offline.

Users can pay $10 a month or $60 a year for access to over 13,000 comic books. The iOS app has mixed user reviews, with most users complaining about the app's performance and UI. Marvel did however address some UI problems and added the ability to read in full screen with its most recent iOS update.

AT&T Drops HTC First to $0.99

It looks like people are not wiling to pay $100 for a Facebook smartphone. AT&T has discounted the HTC First from $100 to $0.99. The HTC First is the original smartphone to ship with Facebook Home already installed. Home gives users easier access to the popular social network site, however, so does the free Facebook app. So why would people pay $100 for a subpar phone, when there are cheaper devices that can do basically the same thing?
